2nd January 1918.

With reference to your letter No.31857/1917
of the 4th July regarding the resignation of Kiss F.K. Kelsey, Nursing Sister, Hong Kong, I have the honour to report that we have paid Kiss Kelsey her salary from Hong Kong funds to the 8th October inclusive, that being the last day of the extension of leave granted
to her. The date from which her resignation was
accepted was not stated in that letter, but, from the
it was terms of your letter to her of the 5th June,
inferred that it would take effect from the expiration
of the lepve. We now understand from semi-official
communication that the intention was different,
and
we therefore make this report.
Under Secretary of State,
Colonial office.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
Mcchus
for Crown Agents.
